If you’re not already a member, you may have only heard of the Federation of Small Businesses through SME-related news in the media.
This means you might be missing out on an incredible amount of advice, help and protection, from one of the country’s leading small business ambassadors.
Check out the hotlist below of their top benefits – with many more besides…
Tax and legal protection
Can’t stand the minefield that is taxes? All members of the FSB are provided with the most current and relevant tax information and advice, plus a tax advice helpline that’s run by taxation experts. If you have FSB membership, you can also be represented by experts during any tax investigations.
Further afield in the legal sector, you automatically are entitled to legal protection insurance as a member of the FSB, which can cover a huge variety of hefty legal costs. Not to mention even more expert advice on anything from employment law, to commercial law, to health and safety.
Employment law
To elaborate on the many aspects of the law that SMEs must be informed on, employment law may feel like an ever-changing obstacle course. However it must, of course, be abided by, and this is where the FSB can help.
Once again, any member has access to a wide range of advice and information, including downloadable documents and a Legal Protection Scheme that could provide you with access to legal representation should you find yourself on the end of a costly tribunal.
Online legal documents
Legal assistance and paperwork is timely and expensive to procure – true or false?
The Federation of Small Businesses has a wide range of online legal documents that you can refer to, often saving time and money by reducing your need to see a lawyer. Documentation is available straight from their website and covers sections such as employment law, business law, taxation and health and safety, plus they send out monthly email bulletins on anything related to these areas.
Business telecom
Still looking for more ways to reduce your spending? As an FSB member, you can take advantage of a subsidised Business Telecom service, which has reportedly saved current FSB members a collective total of £10 million per year.
From free installation to unlimited calls or faster broadband, this is definitely worth looking up to see if you’re currently overspending.
Business print and mail
Another service you can benefit from that’s FSB subsidised is their printing and mailing services – available at significantly less cost than other comparable services.
Members can save up to 70% of costs, not to mention the time involved in hunting for a reasonable service provider – plus, new members get a further 5% off for three months upon sign-up.
Business Fuel Card
And the last one on the list (although certainly not a complete list of total FSB benefits) is their Business Fuel Card.
The card has preferential rates (saving you up to 3p per litre) and its 11 different product options are accepted at most fuel stations. Plus it comes with a simple online account management system to help you monitor your fuel spend and keep an eye on business costs.
