We all love to hate the common office buzzwords and we all catch ourselves using phrases such as ‘drill down’ and ‘scope it out‘ from time to time, but it’s a no-brainer that office jargon can sometimes be irritating.
CV Library recently crunched the numbers and found that over 74% of respondents felt that people who regularly used these phrases did so in order to sound more intelligent in front of other colleagues.
According to the survey, 70% would like to scrap buzzwords completely, but before you bring them to a hard stop, why not take it offline, reach out to your colleagues and play Buzzword Bingo at your next meeting.
We haven’t reinvented the wheel, simply cross off each buzzword as you hear them and when you get five buzzwords in a row, shout bingo – you’ve won!
We hope you don’t park it and instead use it to lighten the mood in your office.
