The FSA is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services.

Whose products do we offer?

We only offer products from a single insurer, details of our commercial insurance product are provided below.

 

We only offer a product from Catlin Syndicate 2003 at Lloyd's.

 

We act as agent on behalf of the insurer described above, collecting any insurance premiums as directed and issuing cover notes and policy documents to you under their direction.

 

Which service will we provide you with?

You will not receive advice or a specific recommendation from us. We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of products that we will provide details on. You will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed.

 

Our service also includes arranging your insurance cover with our single insurer which meet your requirements; and helping you with any ongoing changes you have to make.  At renewal you will be informed of any changes and your policy will be renewed on an arranged basis.

 

What will you have to pay us for our service?

We do not charge you any fees or commissions for our normal services, however should you require a service that incurs a charge we will agree that with you in advance. We receive management and service fees from associated companies who are also part of the Catlin Group and receive commission directly from third party insurers in respect of the services we provide to them. It is our policy to disclose our remuneration levels in accordance with FSA requirements.

 

Who regulates us?

Brighter Business Ltd, The London Underwriting Centre, 3 Minster Court, London EC3R 7DD is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Our FSA Register number is 450578.

 

Our permitted business is to provide insurance mediation services, to assist our clients in purchasing insurance products from the domestic market. You can check this on the FSA's Register by visiting the FSA's website www.fsa.gov.uk/register or by contacting the FSA on 0845 606 1234.

 

Ownership

Brighter Business Ltd is a subsidiary company within the Catlin Group. Catlin Group also provides 100% of the capacity supporting Catlin Syndicate 2003 at Lloyd's.

Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

Both we and our insurers are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.

 

Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit. For compulsory classes of insurance, insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the claim, without any upper limit.
